The wheels on the bus go woof.. woof.. woof!
Puppy bus.. puppy bus.. you brighten my day! Puppy bus.. puppy bus.. deliver sweet doggies my way!
Once upon a time.. in a land way up north.. there was a little white bus that stopped at each street in town to pick up all the neighborhood dogs to go on a walk together.
One by one.. every day…
“Up, up, up!” Mo would say as each pup jumped into their seat.. tails wagging in anticipation as Mo fastened their doggie seat belt.
All the dogs loved going on the bus with their friends!
There was Ekko.. and Louie.. and Carl.
There was Mina and Dasher.
And of course Jake.. he’s the gentleman of the group.
Plus many others.
Rumble.. rumble.. rumble.. the little white bus made it’s way to the park.
Once there, Lee parked the bus and Mo got the dogs ready for their walk.
“Hurry Mo! I can hardly wait!” exclaimed Max excitedly as Mo unhooked his seat belt.
One by one the pups got off the bus.
They ran and played as Mo and Lee took them on a nature walk through the trails.
Playing and chasing.. Dasher was running circles around Mina and all of a sudden, he stopped short, planted both paws in front of him.. and said, “Bet you can’t catch me.. can’t catch me, Mina..!! try! bet you can’t..!” Dasher teased as he darted away with Mina close behind him.
“Whew! I’m thirsty,” Ekko said.. panting a little.
“Come on! I’ll race you to the river!” responded Jake as they both took off.. splashing into the water.
All the dogs loved running.. and chasing.. and playing together.
You see.. the color of each other’s fur didn’t matter to them. They didn’t care if they had long, fluffy hair.. or short, almost no hair! They didn’t care if the others were tall or short.. big or small.. they simply loved each other.. one and all.
They ran and played all through the trails.
Then when they all had all of their zoomies out.. Mo called them to come sit together at their favorite spot.
“Stay,” Mo would say.. and they all sat right there in their spots.
“Such good dogs! I think you all deserve a Tratez!,” Mo exclaimed as she pulled the treats from her pocket.
One by one, each pup got their treat.
Then all of a sudden, Mo said….. “BREAK!” and the dogs leapt out of their spots and started running and playing again!
A little while later, Lee whistled, “Time to load up!” and all the dogs ran to the bus.
One by one they all hopped up the bus stairs and jumped right into their seats.
“Such good dogs,” Mo said as she fastened each of their seat belts and gave their ears a tussle.
“I think everyone deserves another Tratez,” Lee said as he opened the canister to give each pup their treat for being so well behaved on their walk.
The dogs in the back.. in the licky puppy corner.. were so excited!
“I was a GOOD boy, said Dasher, “I’m getting a treat! Were you a good girl?”
“Oh, yes! I was a very good girl,” said Lola.
“I’m getting a treat too!” responded Ottis as they licked each other in excitement!
When all the dogs were safely in their seats and had finished their treats, it was time to go back home.
Rumble.. rumble.. rumble.. the little white bus made it’s way back to town and dropped each pup at their house.
Gentleman Jake was the last dog to get off the bus to go home.. Mo called, “See you again tomorrow, Jake!”
Jake wagged his tail and gave Mo a wet doggie kiss as he said, “I wouldn’t miss it for the world!”
The End
As I sit and watch Mo’s Mountain Mutts riding their bus.. so well behaved.. I realize that the reason I enjoy watching them so much is because.. I love that in this crazy world we live in, there is peace and order somewhere.. and it’s on a little, white doggie bus in Scagway AK…. where we ALL could take a lesson or two about how to behave and get along with each other.
